U.S. stocks slumped on Wednesday, leading the market to its worst quarter since Dec. 2008, as economic concerns continued to pile on.
  1. Apollo Group (APOL:$42.47,00$-0.66,00-1.53%) edged lower in evening trade despite topping Q3 expectations.
    • 43.49 to 38.68 ah's trading range.
  2. Xyratex (XRTX:$14.15,00$-0.18,00-1.26%) advanced in night trade on the back of better-than-expected results and guidance that was in-line to higher than Street estimates.
    • 13.70 to 14.67 after hours.
  3. Smith & Wesson (SWHC:$4.09,00$-0.07,00-1.68%) advanced in after-hours trade after reporting better-than-expected sales results and mixed guidance.
    • 4.09 to 4.39 ah's
  4. Dendreon Corp. (DNDN:$32.33,00$-1.26,00-3.75%) shares plunged in late trading Wednesday after the U.S. government said it would begin a coverage analysis on whether the company's expensive immunotherapy treatment for prostate cancer is " reasonable and necessary."
    • 33.77 to 25 ah's range.
  5. Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. (AFOP:$1.39,00$-0.05,00-3.47%), Guides for Higher-than-Expected Q2 Sales - Surging 13.5% in Night Trade.
    • 1.50 to 1.60 ah's range.
  6. Christopher & Banks Corp (CBK:$6.1900,$-0.2000,-3.13%) posted a quarterly profit that beat Wall Street estimates as higher margins, driven partly by increased full price selling, helped the women's apparel retailer.
    •  6.19 to 6.60 after hours trading range.
  7.  Netflix (NFLX:$108.65,00$-3.93,00-3.49%) closed down 3.5%, extending a 2.3% pre-market decline seen after Hudson Square downgraded the stock to Sell from Hold.
    • Could be a good short here as many people may be looking to sell. 
  8.  Yahoo Inc. (YHOO:$13.84,00$-0.20,00-1.42%) shares rose Wednesday evening after the online search provider outlined a multi-billion dollar stock buyback plan.
  9. Biogen Idec (BIIB:$47.45,00$-1.25,00-2.57%) names George A. Scangos, Ph.D., CEO effective July 15. Dr. Scangos will also be named to the Board of Directors.
  10. Acuity Brands Inc.'s (AYI:$36.38,00$-4.59,00-11.20%) fiscal third-quarter earnings fell 3.1%, as the maker of light fixtures saw its overhead costs increase, offsetting higher revenue.
  11. American Greetings (AM:$18.76,00$-0.75,00-3.84%) shares down nearly 6%
  12. Monsanto (MON:$46.22,00$-1.12,00-2.37%) posts smaller quarterly profit
  13. Advanced Life Sciences Holdings, Inc. (ADLS:$0.06,00$-0.008,0-11.76%) , a biopharmaceutical company developing RestanzaĆ¢„¢, a novel once-a-day oral antibiotic, today announced that it has submitted a final Special Protocol Assessment (SPA) with the FDA for the proposed Phase III clinical program of Restanza in the treatment of patients with community acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP).

Shares of LDK Solar (LDK:$5.17,00$-0.27,00-4.96%) were down in after-hours trading after the company said it decided that an additional provision for doubtful recoveries of approximately $12.6 million for its accounts receivable and prepayment to suppliers at December 31, 2009 is required to properly adjust previously announced preliminary unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2009.
  17. LasVegas Sands Corp. (LVS:$22.14,00-$0.70,00-3.06%) going to have to put on my long bias shoes soon … would love to see a dip/gap down tomorrow and have a candle that closes HOD - that would be ideal - on watch anyway this is HUGE range lately in this stock. Samson Oil & Gas Limited (SSN:$0.99,00-$0.13,00,16.88%) nice today right out of the gate nice alert … one of my favorite type of plays… the gap up hold/consolidation and break of prior high… still on watch since its near a lot of resistance, if it breaks tomorrow could have a big day.. otherwise will consolidate .85-.90s imo.
