  • Major U.S. Indices Tumble - Pressured by Earnings, Consumer Sentiment, this was being said after Friday's close. 
  • DJIA down 261.49 (-2.52%) to 10,356.20.
  • AMD & ANGO should move up Monday with market strength, otherwise, opposite.
  • Crude-oil for August delivery ended down 0.8%, or $0.61, to $76.01 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
  • Gold for August delivery fell $20.10, or 1.7%, to $1,188.20 an ounce.
  • Silver fell $0.51, or 2.8%, to $17.85 a troy ounce.
  • Copper fell 3% to $2.93 a pound. 
  • Will it be a manic or a merger Monday?  Beaten-up stock market facing a slew of second-quarter results in days ahead.
  • U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) insisted Sunday that any extension of unemployment benefits be offset with spending cuts and said, the administration needs to end its "incredible spending spree."
  • The financial crisis that led to 140 bank failures last year has now begun to hurt smaller banks and now The number of U.S. bank failures increased to 96 this year.

    • Want to make money off of them, do some research on your area or the whole country and see which smaller banks have large debt, but cover large areas or have a strong hold on a key area and let me know if you find some, I have yet to look, just an idea.
  1. Citigroup Inc. (C:$3.9, down.26c, down6.26%) shares rose 0.8% after the closing bell Friday, after shedding more than 6% during the session. Citi earlier reported second-quarter profit of $2.7 billion, or 9 cents a share, compared with $4.3 billion, or 49 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
    •  Downtrend in this 10 day chart, could move back, or be great long at 3.6 area, eyes on this.

  2. Bank of America (BAC:$13.98, down1.41, down9.16%...) results below year-ago levels, EPS does beat Street.
    •  BAC hasn't been this low ina while, good long opportunity or short scalp.
    • BoA offers free e-banking account and plans to expand into Asia.

  3. Google Inc (GOOG:$459,605, down$34.415, down7%) shares could rise 35 percent, Barron's weekly reported on Sunday, citing bright prospects given its Android search engine, YouTube and strong brand.

  5. Vivus Inc. (VVUS:$5.41,00$-6.70,00-55.33%) was hammered lower after an FDA panel voted against its diet pill, Qnexa, due to concerns about serious side effects.

BP Plc (BP:$37.10, down$1.82, down4.68%) said its damaged Gulf of Mexico well, which has gushed crude since April had showed no signs of oil leaks since the company tightened a new cap into place, The New York Times reported. A BP executive said that pressure had built up inside the well as BP engineers had predicted and hoped it would.
    • 36.41 to 38 (option possibly), hovers around 36.83 after hours.So its a downward mover.

  14. Dell Inc. (DELL:$13.065,0$-0.575,0-4.22%) said it has proposed a settlement with U.S. regulators over the computer maker's accounting for deals with chip giant Intel Corp, if accepted could give the stock a nice pop towards $15. 
  15. SureWest Communications (SURW:$5.99,00$-0.32,00-5.07%) In a tangled TV market, it's hard for rivals to uproot established cable providers, such as SureWest, which can provide the same exact thing as major players at $30/month.
    • 100k shares traded per day, so low volume, but could build a position over time or short it in hopes that they can't hold onto their market.
