  1. Ikanos (IKAN:$1.80,00$0.09,005.26%) reports Q2 revs of $55.6 mln, below the single analyst estimate of $58 mln on Thomson Reuters. GAAP loss was $0.20 per share while non-GAAP loss was $0.12 per share.

  2. Transocean Ltd.'s (RIG:$53.5600,$3.1700,6.29%) second-quarter profit declined 12% as the offshore driller's utilization rate slid and revenue declined, although results benefited from an insurance gain related to the loss of the Deepwater Horizon rig.
    • BP is reluctant to pay many of the damages associated with the deadly explosion aboard the drilling contractor's Deepwater Horizon rig, even though it's bound to do so by contract. This could possibly effect RIG, negatively.

  3. Allstate Corp. (ALL:$28.6100,$0.0600,0.21%) reported better-than-expected quarterly results late Wednesday, as the auto and homeowners insurer suffered fewer catastrophe losses and made progress reorganizing some of its less profitable businesses.

    • True Range 5.81-6.23, can push this one through maybe, but its in break out area.
    • Long out the gate <5.81, guidance & volume is key to this running, and running it will.
      • Unless volume turns red and everyone starts selling/taking profits.
  6. Prudential Financial Inc. (PRU:$56.7100,$-0.4100,-0.72%) reported better-than-expectedsold more products quarterly results late Wednesday as the life insurance and annuity giant and saw assets under management increase.
    • Income came in at $798 million, or $1.70 per common share. That compares with net income of $538 million, or $1.25 per common share

  7. Hot Topic Inc. (HOTT:$5.26,00$-0.10,00-1.87%) reported a greater-than-expected decline in July same- store sales, while Zumiez Inc.'s (ZUMZ:$18.03,00$0.19,001.07%) results topped analysts projections for the seventh time in eight months.
    • HOTT: 5.32 to 4.90, True Range 4.99-5.05
    • ZUMZ: 18.06 to 17.84, True Range 17.84-18.11
    • HOTT I would look for upside support, considering it declination.
    • ZUMZ I would look for short >18, target 17.8.
  8. Solar equipment maker GT Solar International Inc (SOLR:$6.94,00$0.27,004.05%) posted first-quarter earnings that trumped analysts estimates on high demand, prompting it to raise its forecast for fiscal 2011.
    • 6.81 to 8.40
    • For fiscal 2011, the company now expects a profit of 90 cents to $1 a share, on revenue of about $700 million to $775 million.
    • For the latest quarter ended July 3, the company posted a net income of $16.5 million, or 11 cents a share, compared with $7.8 million, or 5 cents a share, a year ago.

  9. Chipmaker (MIPS:$5.73, up6c, up1%) Technologies Inc posted a quarterly profit that handily beat Street expectations, helped by a more than two-fold jump in license revenue, sending its shares up 10 percent in trade after the bell.
    • Low volume on this one.
    • Pop to 6.50, came down to 6.10.
    • Like the long, but it came down from 6.5 significantly, could get some volume attention and send shares up. Its been uptrending, but the pop maybe too large and its settling.
  10. News Corp. (NWSA:$13.85,00$0.22,001.61%) advanced in after-hours trade after beating Q4 expectations.
    • Sup 13.63-Res 14.38.
    • Posted a profit of $875 million, or 33 cents a share, for its fiscal fourth quarter ended June 30. That compared with a loss of $203 million, or 8 cents a share, a year ago, 
    • Long off sup.
  11. Atmel (ATML:$5.19,00$0.05,000.97%) firmed higher in evening trade on the back of better-than-expected Q2 results and a new stock buyback program.

    • This thing blew up after hours with no come down, look for continuance. no entry and no exit I can recommend.
  12. ON Semiconductor (ONNN:$6.80) reports Q2 revs of $583.3 mln, better than the analyst mean of $574 mln on Thomson Reuters. EPS was $0.24, two cents ahead of the Street view.

    • Came down after hours, but was good results I'd Long this <6.85. Target 7+.
  13. Hartford Financial Services Group Inc (HIG:$23.8400,$0.4000,1.71%) suffered from significant catastrophe losses in the second quarter, contributing to a mixed quarter for the property casualty insurers.
