  • Top Republican Boehner calls U.S. House 'broken'
    • Boehner, in line to become House speaker if Republicans win control of the chamber in the Nov. 2 election, said "congressional rules are rigged" to make it easy to increase spending and nearly impossible to cut spending.
  • Fed's Pianalto Points To Signs Economy Is Starting To Mend.
  • Billionaire investor Carl Icahn has amassed up to half a billion dollars of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc debt and is pushing for a merger with Lions Gate Entertainment Corp (LGF:...) , The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday citing people familiar with the matter.
  • Regulators have asked Congress to formally request a report from them on the May 6 stock market crash in order to get around some legal concerns, an extra step before the report can be released to the public.
  • Target Opens 10 Stores on 10/10/10
  1. DVOX = -19.8%, 7.5 - 6.37
    • withdrawls FY 2011 guidance.
    • A tentative ceiling level was established tonight at 7.18 to 7.00, levels shorts may want to eye as a possible jumping in point for riding weakness back into the higher to mid-6s. However, we suspect DVOX records matches early tomorrow closer to the mid-6s so more risk tolerant shorts may want to bring the entry down closer to 6.80 to 6.60, levels that could see downside drift back near tonight's low or perhaps swing to a fresh near-term bottom in the lower-6s.
  2. DMAN = +16.3%, 9.4 - 9.75
    • Q2 rev up
    • just a watcher here, not alot of action after hours, the pop would have me inclined to think that it could possibly see some upwards movement.
  3. TNK = -5.8%, 12.33 - 12.07
    • to sell 8.2 mln shares in offering.
    • the downward move and little movement off the 12 floor area, has this stock setting up for a good short tomorrow and I always short share offerings.
  4. HPQ = -2.8%, 41.03 - 40.31
    • new CEO post
    • A pre-market open Friday looks to have potential near 41 to 40.75. Traders were obviously not overly impressed with HP's new CEO choice, but the move does eliminate the overhang that has limited the stock of late. We suspect the issue maintains its negative trend in the near-term tomorrow, but we're inclined to watch for potential long plays on the issue, particularly if it revisits tonight's low of 40.05 up to 40.50, an area that saw heavy upside liquidity and where a potential near-term floor support could develop for moves back into the higher 40s. More risk tolerant longs may want to sit closer to 40.50 to 40.75 in anticipation of the stock opening the day closer to these levels and perhaps firming back up near 41.
  5. GYMB = +21%, 49.44 - 51.26
    • up for sale.
    • huge move up, wouldn't go against this news, too much to lose, but I'm not the most experienced at buyouts and company sales, ask, Bmon for advice.
  6. ACN = +3.5%, 43 - 44
    • beat Q4 est, guides mostly above street and they also lifted their div
    • The longer-term widening pattern, combined with ACN's strong next-day performance following evening upside moves, would have us looking at potential long plays on the issue Friday. Early buyers may want to watch for potential entry points near 43.40 to 43.60, a floor support that developed through tonight's late first-half and mid-session. It's likely, however, that ACN starts the day closer to 43.80 or above, so more risk tolerant longs may want to test the waters closer to 43.80 to 43.95 in anticipation of the stock perhaps making a run at breaking more aggressively through the 44 mark.
  7. PWER = +1.7%, 9.08 - 9.30
    • license pact
    • company has been essentially weak so any upward moves imo are opportunities for the short, even the swing short if you're looking for a larger gain.
  8. CSIQ Stock had a nice pop out the gate, gave back some gains, then trended higher, lower ah's, but keep on watch. http://fsc.bz/7KX
  9. MCP Stock is all over the place, but one good thing is that it has a great range intraday, definitely a player. http://fsc.bz/7KZ
  10. LWSN 8.47 posted better-than-expected quarterly results, helped by strong growth in maintenance services, but forecast second-quarter sales the mid point of which was slightly below analysts' estimates.
