Preview June 18

  1. Smart Modular Technologies Inc. (SMOD:$6.50,00$0.03,000.46%) swung to a fiscal third-quarter profit as sales more than doubled and margins increased.  SMOD: +3.23%; tops expectations for Q3, sets Q4 target above Street view.
    • 6.50 to 6.79 after hours move up. 
    •  Long, love to see a move into the 8.2's, but 7.5 is more realistic. In reality 6.71 long, to whatever its momentum carries it to maybe 6.9, intraday scalp here definitively.
  2. Adolor Corp. (ADLR:$1.50,00$-0.04,00-2.60%) said Phase II trials of two possible treatments for osteoarthritis, a joint disease, failed to meet the goals of the study. ADLR: -14.67%; reports disappointing study results.
    • 1.45 to .90 after hours dramatic move down.
    • Short, but I am going to play the bottom bounce. Its down to .90, but more realistically its 1.01 to 1.3, anything under .90 or between I would start small and buy some longs.
  3. Banner Corp. (BANR:$3.54,00$-0.10,00-2.75%) is down more than 9% in after-hours trading after the company announced that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of $150 million of its common stock.
    • 3.61 to 3.01 in a .60cent move downwards
    • 3.01 to 3.2 I'd go long, these stock pricings are always difficult because you dont know where they are going to price at, guesstimation is 3.2 to 3.25. Long on this low side, but I don't know if I cant short this stock, but the short is definitely the play here.
  4. El Paso Pipeline Partners (EPB:$29.94,00$0.04,000.13%) declined in evening trade after announcing plans to sell 10 million common units in an offering.
  5. Alloy Inc. (ALOY:$7.66,00$-0.23,00-2.92%) moved higher in after-hours trading after reporting a first-quarter loss of 18 cents a share compared with a loss of 22 cents a share a year earlier. Revenue rose 15% to $49.4 million from $43 million.
  6. Amylin Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMLN:$16.51,00$0.005,00.03%) shares moved higher in after-hours trading after it said it will present data for its FDA-approved diabetes drugs
  7. Shares of JDA Software (JDAS:$23.69,00$1.40,006.28%) were down after a Dallas, Texas jury awarded more than $225 million to Dillard's, Inc
  8. HCP Inc. (HCP:$34.35,00$0.16,000.47%) announced plans to sell at least 12 million shares, using proceeds to repay borrowings under the company's revolving credit facility that were used to acquire four senior housing facilities and repay mortgage debt.
  9. Neurocrine Biosciences Inc. (NBIX:$5.57,00$0.202,03.76%) said it will receive up to $235 million from Germany'sBoehringer Ingelheim GmbH in a drug development deal for a Type 2 diabetes treatment.

    Stifel Nicolaus upgraded the chipmaker to "buy" from "hold" and said it expects share gains to accelerate in a seasonally stronger second half of 2010.
  11. DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc (DWA:$27.08,00$-1.16,00-4.11%) sank on Thursday after a senior executive warned that "Shrek's" disappointing box office and a barren home video pipeline had hurt second-quarter profit.

  14. Cirrus Logic (CRUS:$17.00,00$1.50,009.68%) opened higher and has been adding gains for most of the morning, up near 10% and hitting a new 52-week and eight year high, after it got a big push last night from CNBC's Jim Cramer, who featured the stock on his Mad Money program.
  15. ImmunoGen Inc (IMGN:$9.51,00$0.84,009.69%) rose 10.03% to $9.54 at 3:33 PM ET on June 17, 2010.

Imaging3 Inc. (IMGG.OB) another day, potential swing from scan yesterday and over night.. closed HOD - still nothing great for volume

Nevsun Resources Ltd. (NSU) hit more 52s today… wants that $4 magnet - short biased off pop or green/red

JDA Software Group Inc. (JDAS) greaaaaaaaaaat long today $22s were holding real well risk was about .10 cents.. kept bouncing off $21.90s took that long, then short twice… and third short ended up scratching. Over all ton of trades on this one… looking for pop tomorrow then short biased.
