Sept 17

Milestone Financial Investments L.L.C.
  1. MEE = -3.6%, 32.39 - 31.02
    • Declined in night trade after the company said it 2010 operating results will be at the low end of its previously announced guidance range.
    • A pre-market open Friday may have potential in the 31.20 range. Sell liquidity was most consistent tonight between 31.80 and 31.40, levels shorts may want to watch as a potential ceiling.
  2. RIMM = +3.5%, 46.18 - 50.81
    • Surged higher in night trade after blowing past Q2 expectations and setting its Q3 outlook above the Street view.
    • While the near- and long-term patterns favor a next-day widening event in RIMM shares, the stock's difficulty in adding to earnings-driven after-hours gains in follow-on action gives us some pause. Add to that some rather aggressive sell liquidity that rolled into the shares at 50 and above, and we would be wary of getting in too early on the long side. Early buyers may want to watch for any dips back near the 48.73 to 49 range, levels where buy momentum looked most confident early in tonight's session. On the short side, any return to levels between 50.50 and 49.90 may open the door for downside bets as sell pressure was aggressive off this range.
  3. ORCL = +4.5%, 25.26 - 26.63
    • Advanced in after-hours trade after reporting better-than-expected Q1 results.
    • With bullish near- and long-term widening performance data at our backs, combined with strong next-day performance following evening upside moves, we would look for a long play on ORCL Friday. Early buyers may want to linger close to the 26.20 to 26.40 levels to start, an area that saw consistent upside support through most of evening trade and where a potential near-term floor support could form. More risk tolerant longs may want to move closer to the 26.40 to 26.50 area in anticipation of the stock starting the day near this range and perhaps stretching to fresh near-term highs.
  4. ALKS = +16%, 16.4 - 15.2
    • Spiking Higher on FDA Committee Approval of Vivitrol.
    • Stock was halted as investors waited for FDA vote, after halt, stock shot up to 16.4 and steady downtrended to 15, pop'd back to 15.2 and leveled out.
    • Typically, drug approvals bring uptrends, look at SVNT recently, although I'd be wary of a sell of over 16, if it makes it back towards that point.
  5. ARNA = -39%, 2.49 - 2.06
    • The bulk of tonight's trade is being recorded between 2.49 and 2.20. Buyers have been active between 2.10 and 2.20, a tentative floor support.
  6. TXN = +4.6%, 25.75 - 26.12
    • Adds $7.5 Bln to Buyback Plans, Hikes Dividend 8%.
    • Shot up to 26.1 and back to 25.7 where it established a nice little range, take it long of the low end and see if it can push to new highs.
