The U.S. FDA Administration will release its staff review of VVUS's diet pill Qnexa on July 12, outside advisors to the FDA will meet July 15 to evaluate the treatment, reports Bloomberg. VVUS July 12 straddle is priced at $6.20, September is at $7.40 according to Track Data.
    2. Novell Inc. (NOVL:$6.06,00$0.08,001.34%) over ownership of the copyrights to the Unix computer operating system is being sued. 
    3. International Coal Group, Inc. (ICO:$4.40, up .08cent, up 1.85% )

      • The company's American Depositary Receipt (ADR) opened down 46 cents at $33.28 on the New York Stock Exchange and hit a low of $32.12 mid-morning before buyers stepped in, slowly at first, but with in increasing numbers joining the fray in afternoon trading. The stock turned positive just after 2 pm and hit a session high of $34.11.

    9. Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF:$36.06,00$0.61,001.72%) shares climbed 15.9% for the week. The clothing retailer announced a 9% jump in same-store sales Thursday, more than triple the 2.8% analyst expectation.
    10. Priceline.com Inc (PCLN:$204.09,00$4.81,002.41%) shares gained 15.7%. On Thursday, Caris & Co. analyst Sandeep Aggarwal upgraded his rating on shares of the online travel company to buy from below average and raised his price target to $230 from $180 previously.
    11. Used-car retailer CarMax (KMX:$19.35,00$0.06,000.31%) shares dropped 2.1% for the week
    12. The worst-performing S&P 500 stock was retailer Family Dollar Stores Inc. (FDO:$36.00,00$-0.30,00-0.83%) . The company on Thursday reported strong third-quarter profit but toned down its full-year outlook, bringing shares to a 6.8% decline for the week.
    13. Barnes & Noble Inc (BKS:$13.28,00$0.54,004.24%) defended a "poison pill" plan adopted by the largest U.S. bookseller that blocked billionaire investor Ron Burkle from amassing large amounts of stock.

    15. The board of Delek Group decided to raise its holding in Noble Energy (NBL:$65.71,00$-0.70,00-1.05%) by up to 1 percent of Noble's share capital in an investment that will not exceed $140 million.
    16. Private equity firm Blackstone Group (BX:$10.50,00$0.33,003.24%) is to manage some of Bank of America's Asian real estate assets, a source familiar with the situation said, confirming an earlier report in the Financial Times.
