  • Despite a U.S. appeals court ruling against the White House's deepwater moratorium, the future for oil companies drilling in the Gulf remains unclear. All these companies are on hold as far as drilling goes, even more companies are, but these caught my eye.
    • ATP OIL & GAS (ATPG:$10.60,00$0.18,001.73%).
    • COBALT INTERNATIONAL ENERGY (CIE:$7.30,00$0.06,000.83%).
    • STONE ENERGY (SGY:$11.46,00$0.17,001.51%). 
  •  U.S. gives China pass on currency.

  2. Lawson Software (LWSN:$7.62,00$0.01,000.13%) declined in after-hours trade after missing revenue expectations and setting its Q1 EPS guidance below the Street view. Lawson 4Q Drop 30% On Charges.

  3. Oil and natural gas company GMX Resources (GMXR:$6.57,00$-0.36,00-5.19%) sees a sequential increase in its third-quarter production driven by improving well results. 
    • 6.56 to 6.76
  4. Hot Topic Inc. (HOTT:$5.30,00$0.46,009.50%) saw a large stock gain , although the company's sales declined in June, the loss was more modest than expected.
    • Big rise today, if mkt pulls back combined with a loss, although modest, Short.
  5. Conceptus Inc (CPTS:$15.79,00$-0.19,00-1.19%) cut its outlook for the second quarter and full year 2010 as it expects a drop in physician office visits during the year and the strengthening U.S. dollar to hurt results, sending its shares down 24 percent in after-market trade.

  6. UAL Corp's United Airlines (UAUA:$20.51,00$0.46,002.29%) says total consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased in June by 3.5% on an increase of 1.1%.
    • This is big news for airlines, Long, as Shares Edge Higher In After-Hours.
  7.  ScanSource (SCSC:$25.10,00$0.50,002.03%) expects Q4 sales in the range of $573 to $583 mln, vs. the analyst mean of $537 mln on Thomson Reuters.
    • 50 million dollar difference should shoot this company stock price up and be a hellova short later, only after the long, be aware though only trades 100k shares. Normally wouldn't mention anything under 500 to 1mil shares, but 50million on a small company like that makes a difference and I"m going to pump them hard. Low liquidity, could get jumpy either way.   8. Airgas Inc. (ARG:$63.87,00$0.37,000.58%) said late Thursday that its board will review the revised offer of $63.50 a share from Air Products & Chemicals Inc. (APD:$68.78,00$1.04,001.54%). Airgas had previously rejected offers of $62 and $60 a share offers from Air Products.
