  1. Expeditors International of Washington Inc. (EXPD:$37.16,00$1.06,002.94%) rose in after-hours activity Tuesday after the logistics company said it expects second-quarter earnings above analysts' estimates. Expeditors said it sees second-quarter earnings of 38 cents to 40 cents a share, compared with an analyst consensus of 30 cents a share. Expeditors shares rose 9.7% to $40.77 in recent activity.
    • 37.09 to 40.77 range after hours, large percent gain, uptrended for past 5 days straight. I'd be looking for a short out the gate as people take profits, but def long, but on the dips.
    • EXPD favors a reversal pattern in almost all of the last 3 years earnings events.
  2. Intel (INTC:$21.01,00$0.44,002.14%) charged higher in after-hours trade after reporting better-than-expected results and guidance.
    • 20.92 to 22.7 = after hours range, INTC favors a reversal pattern following after-hours earnings events.
  3. Advanced Medical Devices (AMD:$7.52, up16c, up2.2%) is crossing strong buy momentum in after-hours trade, firming from 7.70 to a recent high of 7.95, as it feeds off better-than-expected results and guidance from its competitor Intel
    • 7.51 to 7.98 after hours trading range.
    • When AMD has good earnings it tends to be either flat or loss the following day, when it has bad earnings it tends to have Ursala major dips.
  4. Applied Materials Inc (AMAT:$12.52,00$0.21,001.71%) said on Tuesday that demand for its products and those of its customers had successfully withstood broader economic woes.
    • Broader economic woes seems like a weak statement to me.
    • 12.45 to 12.95
    • AMAT has risen for the last 5 to 10 days, but its intraday was very choppy and for the past 3 years after earnings AMAT's following day moves was downward.
  5. Texas Instruments Inc. (TXN:$25.39,00$0.64,002.59%). up 2.2% ah's.
    • Introduces New Development Platform and New Speed Grade Option for the TMS320c6457 Digital Signal Processor. 8am this news was announced.
    • Rose steadily most of the day with a slight pullback at the EOD, which indicates it followed the Dow.
    • 25.19 to 26.05 after hours range, may continue to follow the Dow.
  6. Yum Brands Inc. (YUM:$41.71,00$0.84,002.06%) reported higher second-quarter revenue and raised its annual forecast as the restaurant company's key China division benefited from higher sales, but YUM Brands declined in night trade after beating Q2 estimates but also issuing a disappointing outlook.
    • 39.99 to 42.32 ah's range
    • YUM has a tendency after earnings events to move upwards, but only about 55% of the time. 
    • YUM shares are up from an after-hours low of 39.99, settling in a downside range of 40.60 to 40.15. The stock has made several upside runs at the 40.60 mark and has been turned south on each attempt, a potential near-term ceiling level to watch for a short sell.
  7. Annaly Capital Management (NLY:$18.26,00$0.08,000.44%) was hit for declines in evening trade after announcing plans to sell 60 million shares in an offering.
    • NLY declined to an early after-hours low of 17.60 before settling in a downside range of 17.77 to 17.66 through much of its first-half and mid-session play. 
    • It slipped to about 17.65 heading into the second-half of the after-hours before finding some late buying that took it as high as 17.88. 
    • After-hours indications would suggest NLY records a potential pre-market open Wednesday near 17.80 to 17.70. 
    • Buyers were active in NLY tonight off the low of 17.60 up to 17.75, an area where a potential near-term floor support could form for longs to eye and perhaps catch some upside turns into the higher 17s.
  8. Watson Pharmaceuticals edged up 65 cents, or 1.5%, to 43.23, after the company said its unit applied for Food and Drug Administration approval of a generic version of Genzyme's (GENZ:$53.89,00$0.15,000.28%) Renvela kidney-failure product. Genzyme sued Watson last week in federal court in Maryland, seeking to prevent Watson from selling a generic before its patent expires. Genzyme  (Nasdaq) eked out a again of 15 cents, or 0.3%, to 53.89. 
  9. AAR Corp.'s (AIR:$17.91,00$0.64,003.71%) fiscal fourth-quarter earnings dropped 21% as the aircraft leasing and maintenance company continues to wait for its commercial aviation business to pick up.
